About Me

I fell in love with Jackson Hole when first introduced to the area by the Butcher family. When I decided to spend the summer of '11 out here in JH, a former Pingry athlete, Katie Occhipinti, suggested I blog the adventure. I had no idea what a blog was but Katie O set the whole thing up and got me on my way. Last summer was a tremendous experience. The blog details all the great fun I shared with friends from June '11 - Oct. '11. Even before I left to head back to SRQ, I knew I wanted more of JH. I am now back in JH for "Adventure Summer Round Two!" Many friends have encouraged me to continue the blog this summer ...... so here we go! I arrived to town on June 12th and immediately felt at home. I am looking forward to another summer of hiking, biking and visits from friends. I once again look forward to sharing this experience with all of my friends who have planned to visit me out here. I also look forward to sharing the experience with my friends who follow this blog. Enjoy the pictures and the adventure. Happy summer to everyone!

SNOW in June....now that is a new one for me!

Today I learned that weather in the valley can change quickly!  This morning as I headed to work it was a bit chilly (Pingry fleece vest coming in handy) but the sky was pretty clear.  Our morning float trips made it out and the weather quickly changed around 10:00am.  It did not just change a little, it changed a lot.  We had SNOW!  Yes, you Floridians are reading this correctly....SNOW.  Not a lot of snow, but enough snow, rain and cold winds to cancel the mid day float trips.  The water on the Snake River is very high and safety is the most important thing that Jim (boss) has to be concerned with.  My "training" ended at 1:00pm today and as I was driving back home the sky was blue and the sun was peaking out.  Interesting weather to say the least, but better than the summer heat and humidity of Sarasota.

Neighborhood Road Hog!

He can't be bothered to give me a smile.
After a trip to town for an hour workout with Bob (tennis pro at Teton Pines) and a "Body Sculpting" class at the fitness club, I was ready for a quiet evening at home.  I know that I should be getting more used to the natural wildlife that seems to pop up everywhere in the area, but it still excites me living in a National Park.  It was a good thing I was paying attention on the street in front of my house on my way home, because the buffalo were back!  I think they are getting used to me also, because they were not in a hurry to clear the road enough for me to drive by!  In this town the buffalo have the right of way.
